▏Section 4 Social Participation for Persons with Disabilities
1. In 2021, 287 cases and NTD 9,080,000 were granted to NGOs not only for leisure activities, training programs, and others for persons with disabilities, but also establishing barrier-free web pages, facilities, and equipment used by persons with disabilities.
2. The ceremony of 25th Golden Eagle Model Persons with Disabilities Awards were held on November 27, 2021 to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities. There were 10 persons with disabilities invited to share their life stories so that the public could gain better understanding about daily life of the disabilities.
3. Subsidies and certifications were offered to qualified guide dog training and advertising campaign. By the end of 2021, there were 32 in-service guide dogs and 125 puppies in training.
4. By the end of 2021, 27,283 designated parking spaces were established and 370,625 special license plates and accessible parking space permits were issued.
5. As of the end of 2021, there were 2,242 "Rehabilitation Bus" in Taiwan (Figure 9-7) and the number of beneficiaries was 3,592,616.
6. Guidance was provided for local governments to establish the sign language and communication access real-time translation (CART) information centers, the scope of service, and procedures. By the end of 2021, there were 331 certified sign language interpreters and 227 CART personnel.
