ā–¸Section 2 Disabilities
At the end of 2021, 1,203,756 people were identified as disabled, accounting for 5.2% of the total population and consisting of 667,926 males (55.5%) and 535,830 females (44.5%).
From 2011 to 2021, the number of disabled persons increased by 103,320, or 9.4%, primarily attributed to an aging population and a higher risk of disability facing the elderlies. In terms of age, the percentage of disabled persons aged 0to17and18to64fellby15.7%and4.2%, respectively, whereas disabled persons aged 65 or older increased by 34.2%. (Table 2-2).
