4. A sum of NTD 1,256,746,000 was subsidized for the refurbishment project of a total of 272 community activity centers under the Forward- Looking Infrastructure-Long-Term Care MOHW Stations Refurbishment Project to deploy long-term care service stations to expand the capacity of community service.
ā–¸Section 2 Volunteer Service
To promote voluntary service development, apart from promulgating the "Volunteer Service Act" in 2001. There were 1,042,957 (4% of the total population) volunteers organized into 20,473 volunteer groups nationwide in 2021 as shown in Figure 10-3. These including 306,104 men
(29.7%) and 736,853 women (70.7%). In the respect of service scope, the education type had the highest population (426,944) (40.9%), 310,864 (29.8%) education volunteer service workers the second highest, environmental protection type (205,214) (19.7%). A total of 847,624 volunteers had insurance with the rate of 81.3%. 46,545 volunteers held the "Volunteer Service Honor Card", with which holders enjoy free admission to a total of 351 scenic areas nationwide. In 2021, the MOHW honored 12,983 people who have dedicated themselves to volunteer work for a long time.
In terms of age, 317,349 volunteer workers 30.4% are aged 65 and older, the highest; 253,252 volunteer workers are aged 55-64, as shown in Figure 10-4. In 2021, they served 309,788,793 people, and the duration of service was 127,808,881 hours.
