(2) Subsidized Group B Streptococcus Screenings (GBS). In 2021, there were 138,842 people, with a coverage rate of 90.2%.
(3) Subsidized prenatal genetic testing is provided for high-risk pregnancies. In 2021, 1,279 abnormalities were found in 36,235 cases. Referral for further genetic counseling were provided.
2. A free hotline (0800-870-870), an app, and a website (http://mammy.hpa.gov.tw) were established. In 2021, there were 17,916 calls to the hotline, 3,319,653 visits to the website, and the app with 83,697 downloads.
3. The "Public Breastfeeding Act" was amended in 2019. A total of 2,572 public breast-feeding rooms have been established by 2021, with a total of 1,228 breastfeeding rooms to be created independently by various building proprietors.
4. The MOHW has been promoting Baby-Friendly Hospital Institution accreditation. In 2021, there were 163 hospitals accredited, with a coverage rate of 73.4% of all births in Taiwan.
5. The MOHW has resorted diverse channels in order to disseminate the concept of gender equality. As a result, the sex ratio in Taiwan has decreased from 1.090 in 2010 to 1.071 in 2021 (Figure 3-2).
6. Since July 1, 2021, the program for subsidizing infertility treatment was expanded, from low and medium income households to all infertile couples one of whom is a citizen of Taiwan with the wife under 45 years old. By December 31th, 2021, a total of 9,872 applications completed the IVF treatment and were approved for subsidies.
