partnerships and community resources, Age-friendly communities that meet people's needs are built. In 2021, 22 city/ county health bureaus and 166 Age- friendly communities were subsidized, with coverage rate of 37%. There were 359 entries for the "2021 Taiwan Healthy City and Age-Friendly City Award", and 43 awarded.
(2) Health-Promoting Schools
From 2012, the Health Promoting School Program has been implemented with the Ministry of Education. 4,033 schools of university level and below are taking part, with 3,881 schools of high school level and below and 152 universities. Thus far, the MOHW had organized 4 international accreditations for health promoting schools, with as many as 374 schools receiving the accreditation. Moreover, the MOHW has developed rudimentary structure based on the "Global Standards for Health Promoting Schools" proposed by WHO and UNESCO in 2020, UN's SDGs and their empirical basis, the 3rd generation health promotion schools emphasized practice and sustainability, laying down roots in kindergarten extending to university, linking growth and development and learning in the school field period.
(3) Workplace Health Promotion
The MOHW has been encouraging the enterprises to implement workplace health promotion issues, including physical activities, healthy diets, tobacco and betel quid control, body weight management, four-cancer screening, preventive health service for adults, chronic disease management, women health in workplaces, mental health promotion, "My Health Bank" application, aged employee health protection, control measures of COVID-19 and so forth. The MOHW has collaborated with consultants to promote healthy
workplace accreditation mechanism. A total of 26,382 workplaces were qualified by the end of 2021. In 2021, there were 30 workplaces awarded for excellence in health promotion and three individuals gained recognition for outstanding contributions.
2. Healthy Hospitals
(1) The MOHW has established the certification mechanism for "Healthy Hospital" to promote the health of patients, relatives and hospital employees. A total of 203 hospitals have been certified as of the end of 2021, (including 22 medical centers, 84 regional hospitals, and 97 local hospitals). The certification mechanism will be refined going forward to involve more hospitals and increase the healthy hospital coverage rate.
(2) In 2021, subsidies were provided to 22 local health bureaus and 196 healthcare institutions to implement the "Plan to Encourage Healthcare Institution Participation in Health-Promotion Work." providing people with preventive health services and promoting chronic disease management plans.
▏Section 6 Prevention of Accidental Injuries
1. 7 times children health education services (including prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and accidental injuries) is being provided along with the children preventive healthcare service schedule for children of age 7 years and below. In addition, information on accidental injuries has been added into the "Children Health Education Handbook" to enhance the caregivers' knowledge.
2. Through a variety of channels, the MOHW has been promoting "Fall Prevention Education for Seniors", to improve seniors' literacy for healthy behaviors.
