 Managing communicable diseases requires disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, preparedness, research, and proper immunization. Additionally, relevant regulations must keep pace with global trends and changing health needs to construct a solid framework that can ensure the health and wellbeing of the people.
Chapter 1 Communicable Disease Control Regulations and
System
In order to prevent the incidence and prevalence of communicable diseases, Taiwan has enacted the Communicable Disease Control Act and related regulations. The Act specifies the obligations and rights associated with the control of communicable diseases among government
agencies, medical institutions, healthcare workers, and the general public. It also formalizes the roles of healthcare workers in dealing with an epidemic.

1. Laws and Regulations Governing Communicable Disease Prevention
The Communicable Disease Control Act and the HIV Infection Control and Patient Rights Protection Act serve as the two main regulations governing infectious disease prevention and control.  Guidelines Governing Collection and Review of Vaccine Injury Compensation Fund

The MOHW adjusted the cap on the total amount of the fund, categories of causality, and the criteria for determining severe illness, and the amount of payment. These adjustments were made in response to the future trend of increased manufacturing and imports of vaccines and to further safeguard the benefits of victims of preventive vaccination.
 Regulations Governing Subsidies for Injuries, Illnesses or Deaths
due to Performing Control Measures against Category V Communicable Diseases
   MAR 19
  The limit on the amount of subsidies individuals sustaining injuries or illnesses due to pandemic prevention work can receive was raised to NTD 1 million to reward hardworking pandemic prevention staff.

 Healthcare workers who sustain injuries or illnesses due to violence against them when performing work involving Category V communicable disease prevention should be receive subsidies. Therefore, provisions allowing medical and emergency care workers to apply for subsidies if they sustain injuries, physically and mentally disabled, or die on duty.
  Regulations Governing Management of the Health Examination of Employed Aliens

To create a more friendly living environment for foreigners in Taiwan and be in line with Taiwan's bilingual policy, the provisions concerning valid health examination certificates of employed foreigners were changed. The regulations provides that "The Chinese version of a valid health examination certificate of an employed foreigner issued within the past three months by a lawfully established hospital in his/her country of residence and signed by a physician" is not required if the certificate is issued in English.

The MOHW removed the requirement of submitting a statement of willingness to receive treatment arranged by the employer by an employed foreigner applying for DOT. The provisions concerning the deadline of health examinations for Category 2 foreigners were adjusted. When the Central Epidemic Command Center is in operation, the CECC may adjust and announce the period of health examinations required for Category 2 foreigners. If the time between the date of the health examination and the date of the last health examination is shorter than three months due to the CECC's adjustment to the period, an employed Category 2 foreigner may be exempted from that health examination in order to protect the rights and benefits of the employed foreigner and the employer and safeguard disease prevention work.
